Service truck responding to a roadside breakdown on a highway near Quesnel, BC

Roadside breakdowns

Roadside Truck Repair — Quesnel & Highway 97

Breakdowns don't happen conveniently. When a unit quits on Highway 97, on the Highway 26 stretch toward Wells, or partway up a resource road, we come out, find the fault and get it moving again where that's possible.

After-hours breakdown calls taken.

What we do on a roadside call

  • On-site diagnosis of no-starts, shutdowns and derates
  • Air leaks, brake faults and air system troubleshooting
  • Battery, charging and starting circuit failures
  • Boosts and jump assistance for heavy units
  • Hose, belt, line and coolant leak repairs
  • Tire and wheel changes where it's safe to do the work
  • Electrical and lighting faults that put a unit out of service
  • An honest call on whether the unit should be driven or towed

Where roadside calls come from

Highway 97 through Kersley, Quesnel and up toward Ten Mile Lake and Hixon is the busiest stretch for us — loaded log trucks, highway tractors and gravel haulers. Highway 26 out toward Wells and Barkerville is a long run with limited services, and resource roads west toward Nazko and throughout the surrounding North Cariboo add access problems on top of the breakdown itself.

What to have ready when you call

Your exact location — kilometre marker, road name, nearest landmark or a dropped pin. The unit and engine. What it was doing before it quit, and what it's doing now. Whether you're loaded, and whether you're in a safe spot. That's usually enough to know what tools and parts to bring so the first trip is the productive one.

After hours and honest expectations

After-hours breakdown calls are taken. We don't promise guaranteed 24/7 arrival times — distance, road conditions, safety and other calls all affect what's possible. What you will get is a straight answer about whether we can get to you and roughly when, so you can decide whether to wait or arrange a tow.

Once the unit's back at the yard, the truck repair and diesel mechanic pages cover the follow-up work.
