Mobile Heavy Duty Mechanic in Quesnel

Heavy duty work is its own trade: air systems, big driveline components, high-pressure hydraulics and the electrical architecture on modern commercial equipment. This is on-site heavy duty repair for the trucks and machines that keep the North Cariboo working.

After-hours breakdown calls taken.

Heavy duty systems we work on

  • Air brake service, adjustments, chambers, valves and lines
  • Driveline work — clutches, U-joints, hangers and shafts
  • Differential and axle service, seals and leaks
  • Suspension, steering components and air ride faults
  • Hydraulic pumps, cylinders, hoses and PTO troubleshooting
  • Heavy electrical — charging systems, grounds, harness and connector repair
  • Cooling, fuel and air intake systems on heavy diesel engines
  • Wheel ends, hub service and tire and rim changes

Diagnose first, then decide

On heavy equipment, the expensive mistake is usually replacing a part before confirming the fault. An air leak that reads like a brake problem, a derate that's actually a sensor, a hydraulic issue that turns out to be a relief setting — those all look the same from the seat. We test before we replace, and we tell you what the readings actually show.

Some heavy duty work belongs in a shop and we'll say so plainly: internal engine failures, full transmission or differential rebuilds, frame and structural repair, and anything requiring a press, hoist or manufacturer-only tooling. Knowing that early is worth more than an optimistic attempt on a cold gravel pad.

Equipment we see around Quesnel

Highway tractors and log trucks running Highway 97, gravel and dump trucks, trailers and lowbeds, loaders and excavators on construction sites, dozers, industrial and mill-yard equipment, and forestry machines working off the resource roads. If you're specifically after forestry work, see logging equipment repair; for on-highway units, see truck repair.
